Loving Kindness Activity

All month long I have been finding ways to incorporate self love and self compassion into my client sessions. I have done this via the special playlist I created, which you can find on Apple Music HERE .

After each massage session, I have offered “Take What You Need Stones”, which are stones that have simple uplifting affirmations written on them.

I have also included a loving kindness activity at the beginning of my Yomassage classes, that not only fosters self love, but it helps to foster and create empathy towards the outside world.

I wanted to share a version of this activity that I found, which works with adults, but more importantly with kids. It’s a super simple way to train our brain to be kinder, and teaches our children empathy and kindness.

Research shows that toddlers as young as 14 months demonstrate a natural capacity for kindness, but this capacity must be nurtured.

Studies have found that kind kids who are well-liked by their peers are helpful, cooperative, and emotionally well-adjusted. In addition, kids who show kindness at a young age achieve greater academic and social success in the long-run. So why wouldn’t we want to encourage this?

Watch the video and try this with your kid and let me know in the comments how it went!
